About

We're a charity building a community-led, open source volunteering platform, and we are offering extensive web development tutorials with the MERN stack for peeps that join in 😀 (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js)

Voluntarily.nz is a charitable initiative by the Pam Fergusson Charitable Trust (the same charity that powers OMGTech!) and is supported by The Big Shift, an initiative lead by Datacom with the support of the Ministry of Education, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), Microsoft and many leading NZ corporates.

To speed up the build of the platform, we are asking for volunteers to help turn this into a reality. All skill levels are welcome, and we will be offering training throughout the entire weekend if you want it. If you'd like to prepare before the event, check out the things you can do below:

Getting Ready for the Code Party:

  2. Clone the codebase at https://github.com/voluntarily/vly2 and build it. Detailed instructions are on the github.

  3. Check out the documentation: https://voluntarily.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/VP/

  4. For designers, check out the existing designs at: https://invis.io/P3RU0M4896T
